Ommwriter experiencing server glitches due to high traffic

Due to the overwhelming interest (thank you) in trying out Ommwriter, we have to confess that you have caught us off-guard. We are working on solving the bandwidth problems we are experiencing with the servers. This may have caused the site to be unusually slow, or even have crashed. We’re so sorry.

Stay tuned. And we will keep you posted here once the issue is resolved in the next 24 hours.

Ommwriter goes to San Francisco

Last Friday, I presented Ommwriter at Creative Social in San Francisco (www.creativesocial.com). Creative Social is a meeting forum of global independent digital agencies. Every four months, we meet in different locations around the world, where we get to know the local talent, and bring ourselves up to the date with the latest goings-on in our sector.

It is also a great opportunity for each of us to present our latest works. In this case, I presented Ommwriter. For me it was an absolute privilege to be able to share and test  the concept in front of a panel of some of the most brilliant minds in the sector.

To see Ommwriter being projected on a huge screen together with the accompanying sounds, was truly inspiring. The sensation of writing in front of an audience is similar to that of someone creating a master-piece in “real-time”. In fact, it made me think that this could be a beautiful way to project poetry: writing slowly, with music in the background.

Ommwriter passed the acid test.  I received great feedback about it’s minimalist design, the peace and tranquility that Ommwriter managed to transmit with such ease, and it’s soothing sound effects. In fact one of the comments I loved the most was,  ”Ommwriter makes me want to write”. And this is probably the best feedback we could receive.

So we continue to move forward. We are working hard to launch the following version with new features and functionality, proposed mostly thanks to you. Stay tuned for more updates.

Ommwriter – The new text processor that believes in making writing a pleasure once again

The waiting is finally over. Today we launched the beta version of Ommwriter, weighing in at a healthy 54Mb. Visiting hours are all day long so do come and join us to welcome the new addition to the family at www.ommwriter.com.

Ommwriter is a humble attempt to recapture what technology has snatched away from us: our capacity to concentrate.

Ommwriter is a simple text processor that firmly believes in making writing a pleasure once again, reinvindicating the close relationship between writer and paper. The more intimate the relation, the smoother the flow of inspiration.

Ommwriter loves Mac users who love to write. If you are a scriptwriter, blogger, journalist, copy writer, poet or just someone who enjoys writing, welcome back to concentrating.

Feel free to download the beta version (www.ommwriter.com), try it and tell us what you think.
